SOMOS New York

The SOMOS Summer Internship Program was created by SOMOS El Futuro Inc in partnership with City University of New York. This program serves one single purpose: to give more opportunity to Hispanic students and individuals; who are in need financially; to learn about public policy and government. The initiatives, that this internship program offers, include but not limited to these following:

1. Educate students to write policy papers on issues of interested to each student.
2. Encourage students to serve the local communities as well as involve themselves more in community outreach.
3. Enable students to participate in the process of organizing events that serve the local communities.

This program gives the students the ability to compete in today’s market as well as the ability to foresee their future in public service. Moreover, students can gain much more benefits such as having real-life working experience in offices of public officials, possible credit for college, and stipends to offset the cost of living.
