   I would like to see Somos more involved in local issues affecting the Latinos in their respective communities. I”m suggesting that Somos be connected in some manner with the NYC Community Boards. This is a good time to begin spreading Somos message and mission to the entire city and state.
   My other suggestion is that when honoring individuals at your events, your committee should consider local heros/sheros that have realy contributed to their communities and the Latino community. The young Latino males, for example should be awarded and recognized, especially the underepresented and are projecting a positive image the younger males. It’s long over due! One that comes to mind is the Giants Wide receiver…..Victor Cruz! .

   Somos Unos is a great conference to network and to advocate for better community services. We should take the opportunity to address any issues affecting our community. Our community is rich in culture, and we have very good social skills. We need to embrase our community to work together to achieve a common goal, We need to learn to agree on a disagreement and to disagree an a agreement. We need to make sure that the voice of our children, I really think Assemblymen/Felix Ortiz is doing a great Job as President of the association and we need to support him to continue working hard for our community.
