Miriam M. Gonzalez, Esq., Vice Chair
Ms. Miriam M. Gonzalez, Esq. has an extensive background in public service, with a combination of direct service delivery, public administration, and the design and implementation of public policies and regulations within the local, state and federal government.
Ms. Gonzalez has succeeded in obtaining two master’s degrees and a juris doctorate. She has held various distinguished executive positions throughout her professional career. In 1993, Ms. Gonzalez was offered a Presidential Appointee position under the Clinton Administration. She spearheaded various national task force committees that addressed both international and domestic health care policies. She was also appointed to several White House initiatives, including but not limited to: the White House Health Care Reform Committee, the U.S./Mexico Border Task Force, and the White House Interagency Working Group on Puerto Rico.
Today, Ms. Gonzalez is an attorney. For many years, she practiced law at a mid-town Manhattan litigation law firm. She subsequently accepted a position at the Office of the New York City Comptroller.
Ms. Gonzalez currently serves on various local, state, and national boards. In recognition of her leadership and commitment to public service, she has been the recipient of a NYC Council Proclamation and NYS Comptroller Commendation. She has also received recognition awards from numerous professional organizations and distinguished legislators, including the NYS Puerto Rican/Hispanic Legislative Task Force.
