Rosa M. Pelton Alcantara is an experienced nonprofit and community development leader with a strong track record of designing, implementing, and managing programs that support immigrant, migrant, and underserved populations in New York’s Capital Region.
Born in Venezuela and raised in Albany, New York, Rosa’s lifelong commitment to community service was shaped by her early experiences in the Methodist church, fostering a passion for education, advocacy, and equity. Rosa has held leadership roles at the Eden’s Rose Foundation and Ibero American Action League, including Director of the Migrant Relocation Assistance Program, where she led program development, policy creation, staff training, and cross-sector partnerships. Rosa brings expertise in nonprofit leadership, program operations, governance, and bilingual culturally responsive service delivery. She holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Mercy College, along with certifications in teaching and child safety. Her lived experience and professional leadership uniquely position her to serve diverse and immigrant communities throughout the Capital Region.
In summer of 2025, Rosa co-founded a service agency, Alcantra & Chacon Services, LLC focused on community support and guidance, combining years of leadership experience to assist individuals and families, particularly newcomers in navigating essential services and resources.
Rosa is actively involved in regional community initiatives and networks, regularly participating in events and collaborations that strengthen civic engagement, cultural connection, and access to services throughout the Capital Region.
