Dr. Amarilis Jacobo is a general Dentist in private practice. She received her dental training at the University of Central East, San Pedro De Macoris, Dominican Republic, with post-graduate training from New York University.
Dr. Jacobo is one of the most respected leaders of the Dominican Dental Association and the Hispanic Dental community. Her influence extends to many other ethnic groups within Dentistry. Dr. Jacobo is extremely loyal to the American Dental Association and New York State Dental Association.
Dr. Jacobo is Board of Trustees of New York Dental Association, Board of Trustee of Saint Barnabas Hospital, Board Member of the Nasry Michelen Foundation, Board Member Hostos Community College and Columbia College Dental Medicine Board of Advisors.
Dr. Jacobo is the chair of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Has few fellowships,
International College of Dentistry, American College of Dentistry, Pierre Fouchard Academy.
Dr. Jacobo is past President of the National Hispanic Dental Association, Bronx County Dental Society and the Dominican Dental Association USA.
She has received multiple citations from New York State Legislations, her peers and the Community.
Dr. Jacobo is very committed on doing community services. Locally she visits elementary schools giving educating on Oral Hygiene. High Schools on careers days. She created the Dr. Amarilis Jacobo award for high school students that fit the criteria of valedictorian, leadership, community service.
Since 1992 she has visited different part of the Dominican Republic providing Dental services.
2016 she adopted Astin Jacobo Middle School at Ingenio Consuelo, San Pedro de Macoris with the project “Education free of Cavities” by building a dental clinic on the school ground.
Most importantly, Dr. Jacobo is a mentor and role model to young Dentist of all nationalities.
