Maria D. Viera

Maria Viera, Vice President of Community Relations at RiseBoro Community Partnership, began her work at RiseBoro in 1997 as a Senior Case Manager. Throughout her tenure at RiseBoro, Maria has served in various Administrative and Leadership Positions. Maria has designed and managed culturally competent and empowering Benefit Access and supportive services for North Brooklyn’s most vulnerable populations.

Born in Haina, Dominican Republic Maria immigrated to New York at age of five.  Maria was raised in Public Housing in the Bronx and attended public school throughout her educational career. Maria Graduated from York College of the City University of NY in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

In addition to her professional accomplishments with RiseBoro Community Partnership, Maria is an active civic leader and community advocate. She serves on Brooklyn Community Board 1as well as serving on The Woodhull Hospital Community Advisory Board.  Maria is a mother of four and grandmother to seven; Maria lives with her family in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
